Jamie Tormey, M.Ed

Head tutor and Test Preparation Specialist

Jamie is an experienced educator and tutor who is passionate about helping students build confidence, reach their academic goals, and recognize their potential. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Babson College and a Master’s in Education from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

After teaching elementary school for five years, Jamie founded her own tutoring business and has spent more than 15 years working with students from preschool through college. She specializes in math and SAT/ACT preparation and also provides support in reading comprehension, essay writing, standardized test preparation, and a variety of academic subjects.

Jamie particularly enjoys helping students break down challenging material, develop effective study strategies, and become more confident and independent learners. Her individualized approach allows her to meet students where they are while making learning both productive and rewarding.

Outside of tutoring, Jamie lives with her husband, Pete; their two sons, Jake and Crosby; and their schnoodle, Olivia. As both an educator and a parent, she understands the importance of recognizing each student’s individual strengths, needs, and learning style.
